Konnect UCI
About Us
Konnect UCI is a Korean cultural appreciation club at the University of California, Irvine. Established in 2010, this club was founded with a mission to put on the first annual Korean Culture Night, and to provide an inclusive social, educational, and political space for students of Korean and non-Korean heritage. Konnect promotes Korean culture through weekly meetings, annual programs, and special events while hosting socials to encourage fellowship and community.

Konnect is dedicated to “konnecting" the community to the Korean heritage through an emphasis on friendship, socio-political awareness and action, academia, leadership, and service. Ultimately, Konnect seeks to connect a more conscious group of individuals, and ultimately leaders. These leaders will be those who understand and respect their cultural past, present and future, and how it shapes the Korean-American and Asian Pacific-Islander experience. We hope that these leaders take these experiences and strive to make a positive difference in their respective communities.
We also hope to foster natural curiosity in not only one’s own culture, but a genuine willingness to branch out to different cultural communities and ethnic communities. In doing so, we will learn to better appreciate and understand the differences and similarities in our struggles and experiences.
Konnect UCI is also a constituent of the Asian Pacific Student Association, a coalition of progressive APIA clubs on campus (apsauci.com)

Additionally, Konnect has a dance team called KKAP, which stands for Konnect Kpop Aspiring Performers. Konnect's KPOP dance team is for those who are interested or love all things K-pop. This team is comprised of a diverse group of people of varying levels of dance experience who share a mutual love for the music they're dancing to.
